If it doesn't fit in, I now have the urge to sign up to mod another game just to put in a voteless townie. You know I never actually got to finish that balance. I'll do that first thing tomorrow and let you know. We might be able to do it if we get enough players based on what I am seeing so far. But if we are still short players I don't know if we can spare -1 to town.

Well, if we have to drop Temple to 3 players due to low numbers (although we are up to 21 now), we might need to fuss with Town a bit to balance. Either the -1 player, or giving Temple some kind of 1-shot ability would be better than a Godfather type.
I don't think we need to fiddle with Hex, even if the numbers drop.

I agree. Though it does look like we have enough players that we don't have to fiddle with anything. We get a couple extra vanilla and a doctor for the town and everything is the same for the scum roles, we should be good.
You want to put up a cast of characters type of color? I was thinking every role's name and a little bit about them, but not their status as temple/not temple, make them all sound like they are going to be vanilla town roles, and then a little bit of info on Hex.

RE: Ed's idea. For the Cast of Characters bit we could post their PM color to that list and then (because we have at least one person in the game familiar with the color this time) we can give the temple some of the unused vanilla roles as cover roles. What do you think? I know it breaks our "stick to the color" rule, but it would be the only time we are really breaking it.

Well, true that it's not canon, but I wouldn't rule out the Temple impersonating "civilians", even if it doesn't say that they did (they're pretty nasty characters). Possibly match up the Temple members to similar vanilla characters: Hash was a private investigator and could impersonate Chino from game 1; Dmitriy was a security guard and could impersonate Ari Johnson the cop; John Pender, I dunno, maybe Michael Picray, the accountant...or maybe we could rewrite Thomas DeMent as a Vanilla and Pender could impersonate him.
For Hex, I could write a Vanilla PM for someone who was "turned" in canon, and he could use that as a cover role. Either that, or give him Alicia as a cover tole (she was "turned" and then "turned back", one of 4 known successes (Alicia Kraynak, Raymond Kraynak, Zoey Kicking Deer, Glenn last-name-unknown). Failures: Dennis Quinn and unnamed boy.)

That would work for me, then when we do the cast of characters list we just put the cover role PMs in to that list like anyone else.

Exactly. So, unless you have any objections or ideas: Alicia for Hex's cover role Chino for Hash's cover role Ari Johnson for Coaxial's cover role Picray for Boolean's cover role
Temple can feel free to switch cover roles if they so wish, of course. If they ask (or just do so without asking).

Do we wanna post entire PMs, or just names and color, and then roles in a separate thread?

You're call. Whichever way is easiest for you.

I think names and color, and then role PMs. That way power roles can feel free to reveal or conceal the mechanics of their abilities however they choose.
I may be going to a funeral on Tuesday (leaving town Monday night after work), which would put me incommunicado until late Tuesday afternoon. Just in case, I will try to put up the name/color info and the role info tonight in here, and you can just copy and paste it up tomorrow.

Did we end up with 3 or 4 Temple under the new balance?
Right now, the for-sure names are (in alphabetical order): 1) Max Bennett David Chino (Rizzo/Hash cover role) 2) Germain Degas 3) Gunter Detterson 4) Bridget Fisher 5) Earl Frakes 6) Janet Haze 7) Hex 8) Grant Hutchinson 9) Elsie Janda Ari Johnson (Zlotnikov/Coaxial cover role) Alicia Kraynak (Hex cover role) 10) Raymond Kraynak 11) Sam Killington 12) Eve Linden 13) Ukiah Oregon 14) John Pender Michael Picray (Pender/Boolean cover role) 15) Rennie Shaw 16) John Rizzo 17) Marie Tovin 18) Wil Trace 19) Christina Whillet 20) Indigo Zheng 21) Dmitriy Zlotnikov
With 23 players, I'll need to write 2 more Vanillas either way (2 real Vanillas, or 1 real Vanilla and 1 cover role), but I need to know if only those 2 names go in, or those 2 names plus another Temple name (probably Eddie Howard/Ice would be the 4th).

List of names (in alphabetical order), with color, is here.Is there needs to be a 4th Temple member, add Eddie Howard's name and color to the list. List of roles is: Vanilla Alien Private Investigator Federal Agent Guardian Temple Member Immunizer Regretful Vigilante Alien Leader Avenging Lover Vigilante Detective

I moved the Opening Color into the current game board. If you start the game tomorrow, I suggest the following order: put up the list of roles, put up Night 0 with the Opening Color, send out the PMs, then put up the names/color list. Day 1 would start as soon as everyone has confirmed and you've received Hex's list.
I'm going to edit the Temple PMs now to add the appropriate cover PM to each one.

Last minute thing: If you want to follow MHaye's suggestion about Ukiah, that's fine with me. He wouldn't suicide, though, since he's canonically unrecruitable; however, the Aliens could (in this single instance) actively kill him (since they would, same with Rennie, actually).
